Election, FSU and Pearls before Swine Oh My!!!!! (among other things)
OK, it had been a few months since I wrote one of these. I did some preparation for this blog the past few days. I wrote down some topics on a small piece of paper and thought I would get to writing this at some point. I was ready to write it today, but I can't find the bloody list! Oh well, I think I remember most of the items, so I will take a stab at it. Here we go.
So we had a presidential election a few weeks ago. Obama won, McCain lost, yadda yadda yadda. I am not going to gloat about anything in this blog, trust me. I have a complaint. I am annoyed that there are people out there already saying "Don't blame me, I voted for McCain". You don't even want to give Obama a chance? Give me a break! Back in 2000, after George W Bush was eventually declared the winner, I gave him a chance. I quickly changed my mind on him after a few of his decisions, but at least I gave him a chance.
Woohoo, I found the list! All is right with the world!
Another thing I want to complain about the election is that I see people saying that they are considering running in 2012! THE 2008 ELECTION JUST ENDED PEOPLE! I swear, there needs to be some reforms about this election business. It just annoys the crap out of me that this goes on and on for like 2 years or so. I'm not saying it's not important because electing the leaders of our country is a big deal, I'm just saying that things need to be done to make it seem like it doesn't go one forever.
As of Monday night, my house has finally entered the 21st century. We got high speed Internet!!!! It's sooooooooooo much faster than the crappy dial up connection we had, so much faster. I love not having to wait 20 minutes for the dial up connection to bring up stuff. Did I mention how fast it was?
This coming Sunday, I am going to "Survivor Series" down at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston with 2 friends of mine. I'm looking forward to having a fun time. I might even blog about it come Monday so stay tuned.
Now let's get into the FSU portion of this blog. Is it me or do football players get suspended every week? Last week 5 WR's got suspended for there involvement in a campus brawl. I have not heard anything this week, but there may be more news from that brawl coming out today, so yay! more potential suspensions? Hopefully the players finally get the picture and stop doing stuff like skipping class or getting involved in brawls and just focus on playing football.
FSU did lose last Saturday to Boston College. BC is my second favorite team so I guess it wasn't that bad (It still sucked). I did find it quite hilarious that fans on the message boards were complaining about the Black Uniforms they were wearing and maybe that's why they lost. Call me crazy, but I really don't think the colors of your uniforms has any relevance in whether you win or lose, but that's just me. Get a grip people.
It has not been since "Calvin and Hobbes" was in the Daily comics, that I was able to say "this comic is my favorite". I have a new favorite comic strip now! "Pearls Before Swine" is my absolute favorite comic. I encourage everyone to take a gander at it if you have the opportunity. My favorite character is Rat, but they have a bunch of other characters as well that are all very funny in their own way.
I need one more topic, I only had 7 on my list. Um.........still thinking.........Oh wait I got it! I seriously want to start doing stand up comedy at Open Mike nights. I have some material already and I think I am ready to give it a try. If anyone knows of any Open Mike nights in New Hampshire, Vermont or Massachusetts, drop me a line and let me know. Thanks!
OK, well that's it for now. Like I mentioned earlier, I may write a blog about "Survivor Series" on Monday so keep an eye out for that. I think I definitely will write something about it, but I am not quite sure what I will write about yet. Just stay tuned and maybe there will be something on Monday.

Last Night.............
Last night was very fun for 3 reasons:
1.) I had to go into work at 1 PM for our fall celebration. That's not the good part because I had to rush into work to barely get in 1 PM. The good part is one of the festivities was pumpkin smashing. I got to smash a couple pumpkins and oh my dear goodness is that addicting! I am suffering from pumpkin smashing withdrawals now, I have the uncontrollable urge to go to a pumpkin patch and smash the hell out of some pumpkins, hopefully this feeling will pass.
2.) Since I had to come in at work at 1 PM, I got to leave at 9 PM. I got home in time to watch the second half of the Florida State - NC State football game on ESPN. FSU was down 10-6 at half time, but came back to win 26-17, which was terrific! I was glad I got home to see it.
3.) After I watched the game, I went out to the bar at 11 PMish. I was just going there to have a few beers because the Red Sox were down 7-0 and I didn't expect them to come back and win. BUT BOY DID THEY!!!!! I wasn't even paying attention at first and all of a sudden it's 7-4. Then JD Drew hits a homer and it's 7-6. Drew then hits the game winning hit to win the game 8-7! Sure they may lose the series, but last nights game was awesome!
And that's why Last Night was a fun time!

Blame Amber for this.....
Leave it to me reading Amber's blog (which is linked over to the right btw) for me to remember "Hey I have a blog on this site too!" It has been a while since I wrote a blog on here, so I might as well do that today, I've got nothing to do.
Well the summer is almost over, which means the summer movie season is almost over. I suppose it's time for me to pick what I think is the best movie of the summer, boy that's a tough decision......No it's not, THE DARK KNIGHT! Without question TDK was the best movie of the summer, hell it was the best movie of the year! The best Batman movie ever, in my humble opinion. Put it this way, if I went to the crappy theatre in Lebanon FOUR TIMES to see it, that should tell you how spectacular that movie was OK?????
I think the major reason I have not written anything on here lately is because I am working on my stand up comedy material. I probably have 6 or 7 pages of material right now. Most of it probably needs more work and I have deleted some stuff I don't like anymore, but I think it's coming along nicely. If there is no company picnic (and I don't believe there will be) I will need to find an open mic night somewhere in the area. Anyone who can help me out with that, I'd appreciate it.
Well another NFL season is upon us. I have completed the drafts of the two fantasy football teams I have, and I don't like to brag but I expect to kick some ass this year. I have high expectations, but I think my players can live up to it, at least they better. I actually bought a Pats jersey this year and bought a Jerrod Mayo jersey. He was their first round draft pick this year. I didn't want Brady or Moss because everyone else does. So I thought my birthday is Cinqo de Mayo, so getting a Pats jersey with "MAYO" on the back makes sense.
Along with the NFL season, College football season is now upon us too of course. I have to admit I enjoy college football more, the atmosphere with it is so much more energetic than the NFL. While I have high expectations for the Pats and my two fantasy football teams, I can not really say that for my beloved Florida State Seminoles. I just hope they have a record better than 7-6, because a third straight 7-6 season would really suck. GO NOLES!!!!!
On June 30th I went to the Pearl Jam concert I had been babbling about in my previous blogs. It was at the Comcast center formerly known as the Tweeter center which will probably be named something else the next time I go there. Next time I go there, I am bringing a pillow and taking a nap and wait for all the other cars to leave, leaving there is ridiculous! Other than that the concert was great! They played their usual staples and also played some rare songs like "Wash" and "Bee Girl". I can not wait for the next tour, next year perhaps?
On August 2nd I went to a Bruce Springsteen concert with my folks and my sister. That concert was at Gillette stadium, where the defending AFC Champion Patriots play. That was my first time there for any event, very nice place! The concert was pretty good. I was quite impressed with Springsteens performance. He played for about 3 hours and hardly took any breaks, pretty good for a 58 year old. The other guitar player was good too (not the guy from the sopranos, but the other guy, I forgot his name). My god is that Max Weinberg a friggin machine on the drums or what?
I bought WWE tickets a few weeks ago. Me and two friends from work are going to "Survivor Series" on Sunday November 23rd at the Garden in Boston. It'll be my first WWE Pay Per View in about 8 years, which was also a "Survivor Series". I'm looking forward to it. I think it'll be fun.
For the past year, I thought I would have been making my final credit card payment on 8/8/2008. Well I made a major muscalculation. Fortunately is was an outstanding miscalculation! I made my last payment in July instead, about a month earlier! So I am now free of those ugly credit cards, hopefully never to have any again!
Well that's it for this time. I hope you all enjoyed it. I hope everyone has a safe and happy Labor Day weekend........what the hell did I just write? I am such a sap sometimes it's ridiculous. Peace out homies!!!!!!!!!

An apology, some movie talk, and more.................
I want to start off this edition with an Apology. I didn't realize that my friend Amber also posts on Blogger.com as well, so I should also thank her as well. Speaking of the site, I Love how I can type and it will save automatically, so far I have absolutely no issues at all with blogger.com! It rocks!! Thanks Amber! and Caiti again! and anyone else I forgot OK? There I think that should cover it.
I think I feel a Batman obsession coming on. A few months ago, I bought a black t shirt with a yellow Batman symbol on it. Today I bought a steel Batman symbol key chain. I am telling you July 18th can not come fast enough. Actually July 11th I believe that Gotham Knights DVD comes out (I can't remember if that's the actual title), so July will definitely be a very cool month Batman wise. Perhaps it's not obsession, just buying little things here and there will tide me over until I finally see "The Dark Knight" in the theatres, yeah yeah, that's the ticket.
I have now put over 300 songs on my Ipod. I believe it can fit around 2000. I don't know if I will ever have that much on it, but it will be a nice goal to try and accomplish, that's for sure. I have put every studio album from Pearl Jam on it along with music from various other bands, it's very cool that all that music can fit on one little square doohicky, modern technology, ain't it cool???
Ok...........what in the heck is up with these gas prices????? we are at $4 a gallon? From what I understand, and I know little about the situation except the prices so bear with me, we may reach $5 a gallon? Are you kidding me? Is there anything we can do to stop this crap from happening, and having the gas prices actually go down to a normal rate? Heck, what is a normal rate now? I remember when I thought $1.50 a gallon was too much, Ridiculous!
I have seen a couple movies since my last blog, so I guess this is the perfect opportunity to review them. Don't worry, I won't be like some people and ruin the movie for you so you don't go see it. Even if it's a steaming pile of crap, I will say nice things about it so you're tricked into going and I don't have the burden of being the only one I know to see the craptacular flick. The first movie I saw a few weeks ago was "Speed Racer". It was done by those dudes that made the "Matrix" trilogy. I loved the first "Matrix" and still have not forgiven them for the other two. That all being said, I thought "Speed" was pretty good. It was much better than I thought it would be, which really isn't saying much. I think it's safe to say, if you're a fan of the cartoons, then you will probably like the movie.
The other movie I have seen recently is "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull". I am ashamed to admit I never saw the other three movies in the theatre, but I have seen them. Regardless, you don't really need to see the other three movies if you're going to see this one. I thought it was a pretty entertaining flick. It was by no means Oscar worthy, but it's a summer movie, you go see a movie during the summer to not think about anything and get away from it all. You also hope that the movie you are seeing is a rollar coaster ride of a movie, and the new "Indy" definitely fits in that category.
So I was glad to see the Celtics won game 5 tonight, to lead the Pistons in the Eastern Conference finals 3 games to 2. All they have to do is win once more and they are in the NBA Finals. I have to say though, that even though I am a Celtics fan, I still have a hard time caring about them. I feel like they have tried to buy themselves a title this year with the big moves they made in the offseason, picking up Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett. I feel like anything but a world title would be a disappointment, like with the Patriots. This all being said, I will be very happy if and when they win the title this season.
Getting back to movies, I think the next movie I am looking forward to is "Sex and the City"..........just kidding. I heard this movie is really long, so I think I will wait until it hits the cable channels. The movie i was really talking about is "The Incredible Hulk". The previews look awesome. I think Edward Norton will do a great job in this movie. It looks like so much more of an action film than the other Hulk movie, as long as the director doesn't take a lot of pictures of desert brush and tree stumps, I think we will be fine.
I am getting to about 4 weeks (on Monday) until the Pearl Jam concert on June 30th at the Tweeter Center. I think it's going to be a great show. I'm trying to determine how much money to bring and what exactly will I try to purchase. Hmmmm........decisions, decisions.
Well that is it for now. I'm rather tired but I stayed up long enough to type up this bad boy, I hope you enjoy what you read. PLEASE email me with posssible topics to discuss, I'm perfectly fine with some constructive criticism, so let me have it! Until next time!!!!!

But I already had a title for this?????????
Ok, this is the first blog on the new site, I'll still post the link on the old site I posted on so don't worry. This is all a huge work in progress right now, so please bear with me. I was annoyed with how the other site I used to post on wouldn't work sometimes, so I asked my friend Caiti where she posts her blogs, and she gave me this site. Thanks Caiti!!!!!
Well I was off from work last week. My birthday was on Monday and I thought I would just take the entire week off. Boy was it relaxing! I don't remember having a more relaxing vacation than the one I had last week. Do you know why it was so relaxing? Because I didn't have to travel anywhere! No stress of having to make plans and driving or flying for long hours, hoping nothing goes wrong. It was terrific!!!!!
I did go out of town one day, last Thursday 3 friends of mine and I went down to Boston. First we went to the Aquarium, got something to eat, frequented a few bars, then we split up. My other two friends went to go watch the Celtics game, while my friend John and I went to go see Lewis Black! He was hilarious! We laughed so hard, we could barely remember anything he said. With Lewis Black however, it's not really what he says, but how he says it. He has the remarkable gift of making angry sound funny.
One third of my concert tour is complete. I saw Lewis Black last Thursday, and on Monday June 30th, I'll be seeing Pearl Jam at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA. I am still in the works of determining who is going with me, which is not really a big deal anyway, because I will be there to see my favorite band perform! I'll give a bum on the street my extra ticket if need be, so who knows what will happen.
I've had issues with sleeping for the past week or so. Usually I am fine with 6 hours of sleep a night. Lately I've been lucky to get 5. I have no idea what's going on, I got a bit more sleep last night, so perhaps this ugly trend is turning around. I think It had to do with my stupid sinuses, I have felt better the past few days, so maybe that means I'll start sleeping better too.
My first day back from vacation on Monday wasn't that bad. It never really hit me that bad like it usually does. I even came in early at 11am and worked a 12 hour day! The next day however was a different story. Midway through I thought it was Wednesday because I was looking forward to no overtime for the last two days of the week, when in fact I still had to work 12 hours on Wednesday because it was ONLY TUESDAY! That's when I hit the wall. Today was better though, so we'll see how the rest of the week goes.
Since I had already mentioned the Celtics, I am now convinced they will win all of their home games and absolutley zero road games during the playoffs. Of course if they do that, that means they will win the NBA finals, which is perfectly fine with me. Seriously, would it kill them to win a road game? just one? it's not a tough thing to ask for ya know?
While I'm on the topic of sports, let's talk NFL. I am really sick and tired of the Spygate scandal. Yes I know I sound biased because I'm a Pat's fan. However, I have spoken to fans of other teams too, and they all wish that this whole thing was over with. I just don't think ESPN can find anything else to chatter about, WHEN WILL THIS ALL END?????
Oh I got an IPOD for my birthday! It's an 8 GB Nano. It can apparently hold over 2000 songs. I'm up to 250 something now. I finally put all eight Pearl Jam albums on it. the only annoying thing is that because of my slow dial up connection, it took 18 minutes for me to download a song I bought through iTunes. I need high speed internet!!!!!
Well that's it for inagural edition on the new website, PLEASE let me know what you think. Any suggestions as to how I can make my blog look or even if there are any particular topics you'd like to see me discuss, feel free to send me anything like that at all. Until next time!!!!!
